Enugu Govt Applauds Finland for Arresting Alleged Biafra Agitator Simon Ekpa

The Enugu State Government has expressed its gratitude to the Republic of Finland for the arrest of Simon Ekpa, a Finnish-Nigerian separatist agitator.

Ekpa, who is accused of leading the criminal group known as Autopilots, was apprehended in Finland on charges related to terrorism.

The Enugu authorities have been vocal about their stance on Ekpa, describing him as a "common criminal, con man, and terrorist" who has no genuine interest in the welfare of the Igbo people.

According to a statement issued by Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, Secretary to the State Government, Ekpa is seen as a "murderer and fraudster" who exploits the emotions of the Ndigbo community for personal gain.

The government asserts that he has been responsible for creating a climate of fear and instability in Nigeria's South East region. The arrest is viewed as a pivotal step towards restoring peace and security in the area.

The Enugu State Government has pledged to provide evidence of Ekpa's alleged atrocities to support his prosecution, whether it occurs in Finland or Nigeria.

They believe that bringing Ekpa to justice will help curb the violence and exploitation that have plagued the region under his influence.

Governor Peter Mbah's administration has consistently called for action against Ekpa, labeling him a "megalomaniac" who thrives on "manipulating, exploiting, and extorting" the people under the guise of fighting for Biafra's independence.
