Eminem Makes History as First Rapper to Hit 700 Weeks on Billboard 200 Chart

Eminem has become the first rapper ever to have an album spend 700 weeks on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart.

This milestone was reached by his 2005 compilation album, "Curtain Call: The Hits," which continues to captivate audiences nearly two decades after its release.

Billboard confirmed that as of Tuesday, September 10, "Curtain Call: The Hits" had officially hit the 700-week mark with a sales week of 8,000 equivalent album units.

This remarkable feat places Eminem's album among an elite group of records, including Bob Marley's greatest hits and Pink Floyd’s iconic "The Dark Side of the Moon," which holds the top spot with over 900 weeks. A unique Billboard rule instituted in 2014 has played a significant role in this achievement.

The rule states that a song appearing on multiple albums must be assigned to the best-selling one each week. As "Curtain Call" contains many of Eminem's early hits like "Lose Yourself" and "My Name Is," these tracks frequently contribute to the album's ongoing tally when streamed.
