Donald Trump Pledges to Abolish Birthright Citizenship

President-elect Donald Trump has reiterated his intention to terminate birthright citizenship in the United States.

This constitutional right, enshrined in the 14th Amendment, currently grants citizenship to anyone born on American soil.

In his first televised interview since securing victory in the November elections, Trump spoke with NBC, where he outlined his immigration agenda. "We’re going to have to get it changed. We’ll maybe have to go back to the people, but we have to end it," Trump declared, emphasizing his commitment to revising this long-standing policy.

Trump's stance on immigration extends beyond birthright citizenship. He reaffirmed his plans to deport undocumented immigrants, even those with family members who are U.S. citizens. However, he also expressed a willingness to collaborate with Democrats to support "Dreamers," young undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.

In addition to his immigration policies, Trump announced his intention to pardon individuals convicted in connection with the 2021 U.S. Capitol riot. He criticized the conditions of their incarceration, describing them as "filthy" and "disgusting."

"These people are living in hell, I’ll be acting very quickly, first day," he stated. Trump's presidency is poised to influence both domestic and international arenas.

His threats of imposing 100% tariffs on BRICS countries and his ultimatum to militants amid the Israel-Gaza conflict underscore his assertive approach to foreign policy.
