Dangote Refinery Slashes Fuel Prices, Offers Bulk Purchase at N970 per Litre

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

The refinery is now offering its customers the opportunity to purchase a minimum of two million litres of PMS at a reduced rate of N970 per litre, down from the previous price of N990.

This announcement was made public through a flyer on the company's social media platform, and confirmed by Anthony Chiejina, the spokesperson for Dangote Group.

The Dangote Refinery, with its impressive capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is positioned as a key player in Nigeria's energy sector.

Economists suggest that this price cut could help alleviate inflationary pressures within the country. As Chiejina stated, "Dangote Petroleum Refinery has effected a reduction in the prevailing price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N990/litre to N970/litre for the marketers."

This development comes amidst broader discussions about the future of Nigeria's oil importation policies.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) is currently engaged in a legal dispute with Dangote Refinery over import licenses. However, both entities are also collaborating to end petroleum importation in Nigeria, highlighting the complex dynamics at play in the nation's energy policy.
