Dangote Refinery Extend Operations to Three African Countries

Dangote Refinery has commenced exporting petroleum products to several African countries, including Cameroon, Ghana, Angola, and South Africa.

This move marks a pivotal shift in the region's energy landscape, positioning Nigeria as a key player in the global energy market.

The Dangote Refinery, renowned as the world's largest single-train refinery complex, was designed and constructed by Nigerians with a vision to serve the global market.

Devakumar Edwin, Vice President of Oil and Gas at Dangote Industries Limited, confirmed that the refinery's products meet international standards and are already making their mark globally.

"In recent weeks, we’ve exported petrol to Cameroon, Ghana, Angola, and South Africa, among others," Edwin stated, highlighting the refinery's expanding reach.

This expansion is not just about fuel exports; it represents a broader economic strategy.

The Dangote Petrochemical project, part of this initiative, is expected to significantly boost investment in downstream industries.

This will create substantial value, generate employment, increase tax revenues, reduce foreign exchange outflows, and contribute to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product. Edwin emphasized, "By leveraging Africa’s vast crude oil resources to produce refined products locally, the Dangote Group aims to create a virtuous cycle of industrial development, job creation, and economic prosperity."
