Comedian Bovi Condemns Beating Children, Reveals Son Broke 3 TVs Out of Anger [VIDEO]

Nigerian comedian and actor Bovi Ugboma has opened up about his unconventional parenting approach, emphasizing empathy over corporal punishment.

During an interview on "The Honest Bunch" podcast, Bovi shared insights into his experiences as a father, particularly focusing on his son's behavior.

Bovi disclosed that his son has broken three televisions in their home, often out of anger. He recounted, "My son dey break television for the fun of it. If he vex, he go throw stuff and break it." Despite the financial strain this could impose, Bovi expressed gratitude for his ability to replace the damaged items, noting that his approach might have been different if he couldn't afford new TVs.

The comedian's stance against physical discipline has drawn both support and criticism from the public. He questioned the motivations behind hitting children, asking, "Are you really trying to correct them, or are you frustrated?" Bovi also addressed broader issues within the educational system, criticizing the practice of giving older students authority over younger ones. "No child should be given authority over another child in the name of ‘senior student.’

They are children," he asserted, arguing that such hierarchies foster a culture of abuse and unhealthy power dynamics. He further elaborated on the importance of understanding each child's unique needs, stating, "You can’t raise four children the same way. That’s why you see some children say, ‘I love my dad,’ and the sibling is saying, ‘I hate my dad.’ It’s because the father used the same template for all of them."
