Business Tycoon Faces Arrest Over Alleged $651,280 Drone Fraud

Chief Magistrate Court in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has issued an arrest warrant for Dr. Bright Echefu, a prominent businessman and CEO of Briech Intelligence Fusion Limited and Telecom Satellite Television (TSTV).

The court's decision comes amid allegations that Echefu defrauded BCG NEEDS Company of $651,280 under the guise of supplying drones and accessories.

The court's order, dated November 25, 2024, follows a motion moved by John Paul Eze Esq. of O. J Law Consult, which led Magistrate Okechukwu John Akweke to issue a bench warrant against Echefu.

This action is intended to compel his appearance before the court, as stipulated by Section 113 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015.

The case has been adjourned to December 9, 2024, showing the seriousness of the charges.

According to the complainant, BCG NEEDS, Echefu used his company, Briech Intelligence Fusion Limited, to request the supply of drones and accessories via a Local Purchase Order dated October 21, 2022. However, after receiving the goods, Echefu allegedly became unreachable and failed to fulfill the payment obligations, despite numerous demands.

The complainant asserts that Echefu "criminally converted the drone, accessories and the sum of $651,280.00 under false pretence of doing business."
