Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first African artist to receive Grammy nominations for six consecutive years.
This remarkable feat shows his consistent impact and influence in the global music scene. Since 2018, Burna Boy has been a regular contender at the Grammys, amassing a total of 11 nominations over the years. Despite this impressive tally, he has secured just one win so far.
This year, his popular track "Higher" is nominated in the Best African Music Performance category, further cementing his status as a leading figure in Afrobeats and African music on the world stage.
Alongside Burna Boy, fellow Nigerian artist Tems also made waves at the 67th Grammy Awards, receiving three nominations in categories such as Best Global Music Album, Best African Music Performance, and Best R&B Song for her works "Born In The Wild," "Love Me Jeje," and "Burning," respectively.
Tems now boasts a total of eight Grammy nominations, highlighting the growing presence and recognition of Nigerian artists in the international music industry.
