A bomb explosion on Wednesday tragically claimed lives and caused injuries in Zamfara State, Nigeria. The incident took place along the Gusau-Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area.
According to reports, the explosive device was allegedly planted by bandits and detonated on a busy section of the road, targeting travelers and residents in the area. This attack marks the second bomb explosion on this route, indicating a dangerous shift in tactics by the bandits operating in Zamfara.
Traditionally known for activities such as kidnapping, cattle rustling, and armed attacks, the introduction of explosives has heightened insecurity in the region. Security expert Zagazola Makama highlighted this development on his X handle, emphasizing the new level of threat posed by these tactics.
