Mr. Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, Communications and Public Affairs Manager for Google West Africa, commented on the findings, stating, "The 2024 Year in Search reflects what Nigerians are truly interested in, from entertainment to political and economic issues."
The report indicates that beyond the fascination with these personalities, Nigerians have shown a strong inclination towards entertainment. Movies such as "A Tribe Called Judah" and "Treasure In The Sky" were particularly popular, alongside TV series like "Supacell" and "My Demon."
In the culinary sphere, the "Pornstar Martini recipe" captured widespread attention, showcasing the diverse interests of Nigerian netizens.
On the political and economic front, searches related to the U.S. elections, the new national anthem, and the national grid were prominent.
