Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has addressed the notion of seeking revenge against Ruben Amorim as Arsenal prepares to host Manchester United in a Premier League clash on Wednesday night.
Despite Sporting Lisbon, under Amorim's management, eliminating Arsenal from the Europa League in 2023, Arteta emphasized that this upcoming match is not about revenge.
"Not revenge," he stated, adding, "In football, it’s about another opportunity. It’s going to be very different."
This will mark the first encounter between the two managers since that Europa League meeting. Last week, Arsenal convincingly defeated Sporting 5-1 in the Champions League, showcasing a major shift from their previous encounter two years ago.
Arteta downplayed any lingering importance from past matches, focusing instead on the present challenge. The match is set to take place at the Emirates Stadium, promising an exciting showdown between the two teams.
