Davido shared insights into the growing admiration for African culture among American artists, particularly Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj.
During an interview with Hot 107.9 FM in Atlanta, Davido highlighted how these global superstars are increasingly drawn to the vibrant rhythms and rich cultural tapestry of Africa.
Davido noted, "Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj hold Africa in high regard," emphasizing their preference for incorporating Afrobeats into their musical collaborations.
This trend is evident in Davido's recent work with Nicki Minaj on the track "If It’s Okay," which she insisted should have "full African flavor."
Similarly, when working on "Sensational" with Chris Brown, Davido recounted how Brown encouraged him to infuse the song with Afrobeats and even sing in Pidgin. "He asked me to sing in Pidgin," Davido recalled, underscoring Brown's genuine appreciation for African music styles.
