The music world mourns the loss of American rapper Rich Homie Quan, who has reportedly passed away at the age of 34.
The Atlanta-based artist, whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar, was found dead in his home on September 5, 2024.
Rich Homie Quan, known for his melodic trap flow and hits like "Type of Way" and "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)," reportedly died from a drug overdose.
The news of his untimely demise spread rapidly across social media platforms on Thursday morning, with several high-profile artists and music personalities expressing their grief.
Boosie Badazz, a fellow rapper, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his sorrow: "JUST TALKED TO YOU BRA 😓 #tipQUAN Never go forget yo smile n the way talked n of course yo music 💯."
Similarly, Jacquees, another prominent figure in the music industry, tweeted, "Rest in Peace my brother Rich Homie Quan. I love you for Life. #Richgang." Rich Homie Quan's career spanned over a decade, during which he gained immense popularity and success. He was also a member of the group Rich Gang alongside Young Thug and Birdman, known for their platinum-selling track "Lifestyle."
In 2022, Quan announced a partnership with Venice Music under his new label, Rich Homie Entertainment, aiming to independently release music.
