Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the leader of Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has addressed his congregation and the public to clarify his involvement with the Nigerian Police.
Contrary to circulating media reports, Pastor Idowu emphasized that he was not arrested but was invited to assist in an ongoing investigation.
In a video message shared on social media, Pastor Idowu stated, "This is from me to you: I was invited and not arrested. I was invited by the Police to help in an investigation about a church member that got into some trouble."
The pastor's remarks aim to correct what he describes as misrepresentations in the media regarding his role in the investigation.
The case involves a church member accused of being implicated in financial wrongdoing, reportedly amounting to N1.5 billion.
Pastor Idowu expressed his commitment to cooperating fully with law enforcement while respecting the confidentiality of those involved. He noted, "I would love to say so much to you, but remember that the case is under investigation, and also a person is involved.
They all have wives, they all have children, they all have relatives." Pastor Idowu also took the opportunity to thank his congregation for their unwavering support during this challenging time. "Thank you for trusting and supporting me even when you didn’t know the facts of the matter," he said, showing the importance of community solidarity.
