Al-Nassr head coach Stefano Pioli on Tuesday chose not to comment on the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo following their 2-1 defeat against Al-Sadd in the AFC Champions League.
The match took place at Al-Awwal Park, where Al-Nassr had already secured a spot in the knockout rounds. Despite this, Pioli decided to rest Ronaldo, who was not included in the squad for the game.
During the match, Akram Afif scored for Al-Sadd in the 53rd minute, but an own goal by Romain Saiss leveled the score. Adam Ounas then clinched the victory for Al-Sadd with a penalty in stoppage time.
When questioned about Ronaldo's absence, Pioli stated, "I will not talk much about the absence of any player. We worked hard in the match, missed a number of opportunities and lost."
Since joining Al-Nassr, Ronaldo has been a standout performer, scoring 78 goals in 87 appearances for the Riyadh-based team after leaving Manchester United in 2022.
