Activist Sowore Slams EFCC Over Secrecy in 753 Duplexes Forfeiture Case

Activist Omoyele Sowore has taken aim at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its handling of a high-profile real estate forfeiture case involving 753 duplexes in Abuja.

Sowore criticized the EFCC for failing to disclose the identity of the properties' owner, whom the agency vaguely described as a "Top Brass" and former government official. He accused the EFCC of shielding corrupt individuals from public scrutiny.

The EFCC had announced the final forfeiture of these properties but refrained from naming the owner, citing professional standards that prevent them from disclosing names not directly linked to title documents.

In response, Sowore labeled this reasoning as "reckless and irresponsible," asserting that he possesses court proceedings and an affidavit that reveal those implicated in the fraud.
