₦94M Fraud: Yahoo Boys Shoot "Aza Man” Over Sharing Formula

A man known as "Aza Man" was shot by suspected Yahoo boys following a heated dispute over the sharing of ₦94 million obtained through online fraud.

This incident highlights the dangerous underbelly of internet scams and the severe consequences that can arise from such illicit activities.

The term "Aza Man" is used within the world of internet fraud to describe individuals who provide their bank accounts for receiving proceeds from scams.

In this case, the victim had been promised a share of the ₦94 million. However, tensions escalated when he allegedly decided to keep the entire sum for himself, reneging on the agreement with his accomplices.

According to a source familiar with the situation, "While the Aza man was promised a certain percentage of the amount upon the payment, he refused and instead retained the fund to himself. He refused to share with the group."

This betrayal led to a violent confrontation on Okhoro road in the Egor Local Government Area, where the victim was accosted while driving his Sport Utility Vehicle.

The assailants ordered him out of his car and shot him at close range. SP Moses Yamu, the Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in Edo, confirmed the shooting and stated that an investigation is underway to apprehend those responsible.

"Investigation had commenced, with the aim of arresting the perpetrators," Yamu noted, adding that the victim is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility in the state.
