3 Nigerians, 1 Foreigner Arrested for Human Trafficking, Sexual Exploitation of a 25-year-old Woman in Malaysia

Malaysian authorities have dismantled a human trafficking syndicate involving three Nigerian nationals and a local woman, accused of exploiting a 25-year-old Nigerian woman.

The victim, lured to Malaysia under the false promise of employment as a domestic helper, was instead coerced into sex work a grim reality she managed to escape from, leading to the exposure of this heinous crime.

The incident came to light when the victim bravely fled her captors and reported the ordeal to the police.

According to Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam, the Southwest district police conducted a raid on November 30, 2024, at a house in Bayan Lepas, resulting in the arrest of four individuals, including a couple.

"They are aged between 24 and 37, and one of them is a local woman," Sazalee stated during a press conference.

Investigations revealed that the victim was deceived by a female agent of the same nationality, who facilitated her entry into Malaysia through Kuala Lumpur International Airport on October 10. Once in Penang, she was forced into sex work, with the syndicate charging between RM150 to RM500 per booking at entertainment venues.
