The Nigerian State House has earmarked a substantial N15.09 billion in the 2025 Appropriation Bill for the procurement of vehicles and the construction of an office complex.
This allocation is part of the "Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity," presented by President Bola Tinubu to the National Assembly.
The budget outlines significant expenditures aimed at enhancing the operational capabilities of the State House.
A total of N164 million is allocated for the purchase of tyres for bulletproof vehicles, plain cars, jeeps, platform trucks, and other utility and operational vehicles.
Additionally, N1.1 billion is set aside for the replacement of Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs), while N3.66 billion is designated for the acquisition of operational vehicles.
In a detailed breakdown, the budget specifies that N127.86 million will be used for procuring SUVs for the President and Vice President.
Furthermore, N285 million is allocated for motor vehicles under the office of the Chief of Staff, and N179.63 million is earmarked for security and operational vehicles for the Chief Security Officer to the President.
The financial plan also includes N2.12 billion for honorariums and sitting allowances, alongside a proposed N1.83 billion for constructing an office complex for Special Advisers and Senior Special Advisers.
This move is seen as a strategic effort to bolster infrastructure and improve the efficiency of government operations.
