A dramatic 16-month investigation culminated in the arrest of a housemaid accused of stealing jewelry valued at $60,000 from her employer.

The suspect, identified as Alice Udey, was apprehended on Sunday October 27, at the Ikoyi Police Station.

This arrest follows an extensive search that has unveiled what authorities believe to be an organized crime ring targeting wealthy Nigerian households.

Udey, who reportedly uses multiple aliases, secured employment through an agency and vanished the day after starting work, taking with her the valuable jewelry.

According to police officials, "The suspect is expected to face charges related to theft while the investigation continues."
