The Federal Government of Nigeria has successfully repatriated 148 Nigerians from the Niger Republic.
This group, which includes 120 adult males, nine adult females, ten male children, seven female children, and two infants, was received by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Thursday, November 14.
The repatriation was facilitated with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The returnees arrived at Lagos' Murtala Muhammed International Airport aboard a Skymali flight ER-CTZ at approximately 2:15 PM.
Despite a brief delay caused by heavy rain, the operation proceeded smoothly once the weather cleared.
Upon arrival, the returnees were transported to a biometric registration center for documentation.
NEMA's Lagos Territorial Office coordinated the reception alongside other key stakeholders. A statement from NEMA highlighted the collaborative nature of the operation, noting the presence of representatives from the Nigerian Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), IOM, and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
